I am still making hexagons, honest!

Oh dear! I really have neglected to update on my hexagon blanket but admittedly things have been a little quiet on the hexagon front, knitting has stolen me away from it and I feel a little guilty, like I'm cheating or having a love affair haha!

Tuscany

Seriously though I really am enjoying knitting, a craft I've always grumbled about, "oh crocheting is much better" but now I think I love the two very much, but in different ways. Crochet will always be my first love. Ok well second, sorry J!

Tuscany

Back when I went to Tuscany a few months ago I took the opportunity of lazing around the pool to get some extra hexagons made, I started a little production line too making lots of greens, then yellows...

Hexagon blanket

And then after I'd made quite a large number I decided I wanted to join them all - woo hoo! I wish I could be one of those people who makes all the hexagons first so I could take an impressive photo of them all together. In reality I'm just far too impatient and I want to see it finished (or as near as) now!!!

It's looking a little amoeba like at the moment but I think once I get a few more in and it's a decent shape we won't be looking at a science experiement anymore!

P.S I sold my bunting!! I won't say who to incase they don't want me too but I really hope they like it - fingers crossed it has arrived :-D I got so excited that I've bought more fabric (this time in blue) and hope to make more!!!

My new Etsy shop!

Ok ok... It might be a little early to say "shop". It might even be a little early to have one! But I got a little fed up recently of working for other people and doing a job that I don't love. I love having a job, don't get me wrong, it's just what could be better than working for yourself and loving it!

Bunting

So in a moment of madness I whipped up some bunting and decided to sell it. I doubt this will make my millions, I doubt I will even be making any money from this but I might be able to buy a couple of balls of yarn which would make me a very happy bee indeed!

Bunting

I haven't put much into advertising this as yet but I'm hoping one day I might be able to make custom bunting for people :-) This has been hand lovingly made by me (of course!!) and I have one similar to match, so whoever buys it (ok if...!) will be like my bunting buddy or something ;-)

My shop is here so have a visit - there's no obligation to buy, I won't even know you've been :-D

In rainbows

Hello! Happy Wednesday afternoon :-) The weather is absolutely lovely here, it feels like we might have a proper summer afterall! It's a shame it wasn't like this on Friday because my mum took me to the RHS Hampton Court flower show (and you know how I love gardening!) and it rained quite a lot. Nothing was going to stop us from enjoying ourselves and getting down to some serious plant buying; we just hid in the Rose tent while the rain did it's thing :-)

I present to you the product of two women and a garden show! Thank goodness my brother came, I don't know how we'd have carried everything. He took many many more photos (I took 4...) so as soon as he gets them online I'll pick out a few good ones to show you.

So onto more crafty things then. You may remember back here I said I'd been part of a Ravelrly swap and got sent loads of amazing yarn, well I finally put some of it to very good use!

Phone pouch

I've made a little phone pouch for my android incase I drop it, which I have a habit of doing! It's a very simple design, just rounds of trebles, slip stitched at the end so there's no seam.

Phone pouch

I found a cute button in my button stash (from an old top) and made a little chain ring to fasten.

Phone pouch

It was a really quick project which is something you need from time to time isn't it? I have so many long term projects on the go (I actually have 4 WIPs on the go now...!) so it's nice to see something finished for once.

Although improvised the general gist of this pattern is from Lucys jar jackets (I call them jar cosies!) over on Attic 24, so you can pick up how to make it properly over there. I just stopped doing rounds when I reached the top of the phone and did stripes for a flap.

Right I'd better be off because I have a million and one things to do, but I've lots of posts to share so hopefully I'll be back very soon :-)

P.S I have 38 followers!!! I'm on the slow count up to 40 when I'll be having a little celebration :-D Thanks guys x

P.P.S! I knew I'd seen inspiration for the pouch and I just stumbled upon it! Sahm Saritha at Rainbow Bunting made a very lovely pouch for a friend and although the colours are very different it definitely made me want to make one!

Anyone for a cuppa?

A brew, a pot, bevvy, cuppa. Whatever you call it, if you live in England you probably drink it... Tea!!

Hope you are all good by the way and if you're in the states that you're having a wonderful Independance Day. Happy 4th July! I really enjoyed reading the comments about my Glastonbury post, it was so lovely to hear about other people who have been and about people who have been involved in other festivals. Woodstock?! I'm VERY jealous!

Wayyyyy back I got into knitting Alice's Spring Explosion Tea Cosie from Crochet with Raymond (see here) and I was pretty amazed that I managed to get it looking right!

Admittedly it's a little too small, and I crocheted the sides upto the handle a little too much together but as a first attempt I'm happy.

This was it then.

Knitted tea cosie

It's taken me a long time to get round to embelishing it but I finally did a few weeks ago and I really wanted to share it with you!

I haven't been quite as creative with my flowers or leaves and they're quite basic but I really like them. The leaves ended up being improvised because I couldn't find a pattern I a) liked and b) could figure out! They were something along the lines of ch 12- into the ch work dc, dc, htr, htr, tr, tr, dtr, tr, htr, dc and so on.

The flowers were a magic circle, ch 2, tr 3, ch 2, sl * repeat 4 times.

The yarn for the leaves and flowers were from my swap stash that Nanita sent, I didn't have any other greens before so couldn't make leaves that stood out from the pot, I'm so glad I do now! Thanks hon :-)

Alice was also very helpful and patient with me! I got stuck (very early on) and sent her a rather frantic message pleading for help!! Even though she probably has lots of comments and questions she was super lovely and explained what to do. A proper nice person :-)
